I only run a small business do I need Monitoring?
No matter the size of your business you will need to comply with legislation. Maintenance of the cold chain is one of the main factors that you need to show compliance with. The system produces HACCP compliant reports which assist you with showing due diligence.
The benefits to staff with time saved through electronic data collection and the removal of the element of human error from the monitoring process are just the beginnings. With alarm capabilities you remove the risk of unknown unit failure leading to the spoilage of expensive and much needed stock.
Why should I choose your system?
We have almost twenty years experience providing electronic controls, temperature monitoring, logging and alarm systems to the food industry. Our products are used extensively in some of the top high street stores and throughout the cold chain. Quite simply we know we know what we are doing!
What's the difference between your system and a data logger?
Data loggers record information which can then be downloaded by connecting them to a PC. Dataloggers only tell you what happened in the past. Our wireless temperature alarm systems monitor the temperature every minute and wirelessly transmit this information to a base station where it is displayed. In addition you can add high and low alarm thresholds to each point being monitored so we can automatically inform you when the temperature is outside its normal operating conditions.
I have fridges, freezers and cold stores spread over my business premises, can the Wireless Monitor do all of these?
We have monitoring systems that can measure inputs from up to 120 Wireless Sensors. Where points to be measured are separated by a large distance from the Wireless Monitor base unit then a Repeater module is used. With the use of Repeaters any size of premises can be effectively covered.
How do I know what temperature my equipment is operating at?
The Wireless Monitor records the data from the Wireless Sensors every minute, this data can then be accessed in a number of ways:
- The LCD display details the current real time data for all sensors together with its high and low alarm set points.
- You can view historical data in tabular or graphical format
- You can download data directly from the Wireless Monitor onto a USB stick for review on a standard PC office software package
- You can log into the Wireless Monitor remotely using any standard web browser and review both current real time data and historical data in both tabular and graphical web formats.
What happens if the temperature in my refrigerated equipment is running to high?
Each time the Wireless Monitor receives data from the Wireless Sensor it checks that data against the Alarm Set Points that you set when the system is first installed.
If the system detects that the temperature has breached the alarm levels it will indicate a warning and continue to monitor the temperature (default review time is 30 minutes). During the review period the Wireless Monitor will check the temperature to see if it recovers to within the set points, if after the review period the temperature remains outside of the set points an alarm event is triggered.
How does the Wireless Monitor tell me if there is a temperature problem?
In the event of an alarm our wireless monitoring can be set to notify you by;
- Sounding its internal sounder (a loud bleeping noise).
- Send you an email detailing the precise nature of the fault.
- Activate an external Claxton / remote strobe.
- Send you an SMS text message.
- Activate an auto dialler to send a voice message to a phone.
- The Wireless Monitor can notify your monitoring bureau – see web section on 24/7 Monitoring Bureau
*Note depending on the system an additional upgrade maybe required.
How difficult it the Wireless Monitor to operate?
The Wireless Monitoring unit has been designed with the end users in mind. It is simple to use with menus written in plain English with no acronyms. When using with the operating manual we are confident that even a new user will be able to use the basic operations on the system within 15 minutes.
How does the Wireless Monitor help me with my HACCP compliance?
The Wireless Monitoring unit holds the data it records for 1 year; this data can be easily backed up via either a USB stick or via the web to give long term data storage. The format in which the Wireless Monitoring unit holds the recorded data is HACCP compliant and any reports that you produce via the system will aid you in supporting your due diligence.
If I am at home can I look at the information being recorded by my Wireless Monitor?
Our monitoring systems can be connected to a network and viewed using a standard web browser. You do not require any complicated software. Once connected to your network you can then view real time data, historical data in either a graph or table and review and acknowledge alarms either in your business or remotely from any computer in the world.
How is the Wireless Monitor going to help me save energy?
The Wireless Monitor does not only measure temperature; you can measure your energy usage through a number of metering options (any utility connected to your business can be measured), you can measure cold room, refrigeration or freezer door openings times, you can put set points into these opening times so that if a door is open for an excessive period of time the Monitor will alarm.
Our experience shows that once you start to monitor even something as simple as your refrigeration equipment temperatures accurately you will start to see ways of saving energy. In the winter you may find you have the option to increase thermostat settings to maintain refrigeration temperatures within your set points, simply doing this has an effect on reducing the work load of the compressor which will reduce the energy you are using.
Depending on the level of plant and the kind of units you operate larger savings are capable, through independent experimentation we have seen that using our controllers and plant equipment up to a third can be cut from electrical energy costs.
